Boost Self Confidence

Seven Awesome Ways To Boost Your Self-Confidence

If you are like most people, the chances are good that you experience moments of self-doubt, anxiety, or general unhappiness from time to time. Feelings of shortcomings can get triggered by any number of reasons. Negative issues associated with self-image, romantic relationships, family relationships, intimacy, career, and other social situations can put unnecessary obstructions in your life journey.

That is the bad news. The good news is that you have the power to change these thoughts into something more positive and powerful to boost your confidence, your productivity, and your sureness. Not surprisingly, when you feel good about yourself, your determination can’t help but show through.

Read these seven awesome ways to boost your self-confidence.

Organize and Declutter – It is no secret that your physical surroundings can profoundly impact feelings of self-worth. Clutter causes stress and other emotions such as anxiety, fear, uncertainty, and nervous tension. (In extreme cases, such as hoarding, the accumulation of objects and possessions can pose serious health or safety issues.) Cleaning and decluttering your life of items that are no longer of use to you is rejuvenating. Not sure what to do with these possessions? Consider donating gently used goods to the needy or selling them at a garage sale or on an online shopping platform. Letting go is a great feeling, and your psyche will thank you!

Volunteer – Sometimes we get so caught up in the situations in our own lives that seeing the world through different eyes gives more perspective. By volunteering, you are helping others, which is always rewarding and is helping to boost your confidence. You get the opportunity to meet new people, work on exciting projects, and add more depth and meaning to your life, all of which are effective ways to boost your confidence. Moreover, don’t forget the good karma that comes with being someone who is happy to help and serve others.

Boost Self Confidence

Improve Your Diet – Do you remember the old saying ‘you are what you eat?’ Take a moment to think about the last three meals or snacks you consumed. Did these foods or snacks provide much nutritional value? After eating, did you still feel hungry? Did you have guilty feelings when you finished? Do you know how many calories you consumed? In modern day, consumers have more food choices available than ever before – including ones that aren’t so healthy. A better diet helps your body and mind by providing the critical vitamins and minerals needed to function optimally. Even if you aren’t ready to do a complete a 180 and overhaul your entire diet, simple changes such as replacing sugary sodas with water, choosing a salad over french fries as a side dish, and limiting or eliminating the consumption of high-fat foods can make a significant difference in the way you feel. Also, don’t forget to eat lots of fruits and vegetables!

Get Active – One of the best ways to boost your confidence is to get out there and move your body. Exercise helps the body release endorphins, or ‘feel good’ hormones that raise your mood. If you need extra motivation, ask a friend to join you. By doing so, you help keep each other motivated and accountable to follow through on your exercise plan.

Keep a Journal – Writing is a terrific way to express yourself and boost your confidence. You can use your journal to explore situations and events that helped you form negative opinions and sensitivity surrounding your ego. By addressing these issues, you can take steps to boost self-confidence.

Try Something New – Boost self confidence by trying something new! Is there a class you’ve always wanted to take? A hobby or sport you’ve been thinking about starting? If so, now is a perfect time to join that bowling or dart league, a book club, or start growing a healthy garden.

Stop Negative Self Talk – It’s common for many people to be their own worst enemy and biggest critic. The next time you catch yourself talking down or being overly critical of yourself, stop this negative talk in its tracks. By replacing these adverse thoughts with positive comments instead, you will quickly find out that you can do anything you set your mind to it. Additionally, it stops you from quitting, which is the ultimate form of self-defeat.

The biggest thing to remember is that you are worthy! As long as you are alive to fight for another day, your book is not yet writ. You have the power to change your life for the better if you are willing to rise to the challenge. When little changes get made consistently, measurable results always follow.

Make The World A Healthier Place As A Dietician or Nutritionist

Nutrition is a critical subject as well as a growing industry. A career as a dietician or Nutritionist is vital to helping others live a healthier lifestyle. Healthcare, hospitality, and the fitness industry all have a high demand for nutritionists. Trained nutritionists can prepare meal plans that are balanced and healthy. Becoming certified in nutrition is a fast way to open doors for a career. The interactions that food has with the human body is an endless topic. Nutritional science is fun and controversial for a myriad of reasons.

Organic Fruits and Vegetables

Nutrition Matters!

Arguably, nutrition is the most important subject for humankind. It is no secret that the food people eat directly affects their health. Most major diseases that are ravaging developed countries can get attributed to poor diet, nutrition, and lifestyle habits. The science surrounding food gets based on clinical research. Often studies contradict each other, resulting in further discussion among nutritional experts. For this reason, people who are concerned with how proper diet and nutrition affect the human body pursue dietary courses. These courses are updated to reflect changes within the food industry. Meal planning requires a considerable amount of practical nutrition experience. When meal planning for people suffering from various medical conditions, you have to dial in their meals correctly. The foods that people eat can make these conditions better or worse.

Nutrition Is A Building Block For Good Health

Food is one of the best medicines for those suffering the ill effects of poor eating. Unsurprisingly, this is a large percentage of the population. Few people following a standard diet in the developed world are mindful of how this way of eating is damaging. Diseases such as heart attacks, strokes, and diabetes are too often the result of consuming excessive amounts of sodium, sugar, fat, cholesterol, alcohol, and empty calorie foods. The way to get on the road to good health is to increase the consumption of whole grains, vegetables, and whole foods. A nutritionist is qualified to suggest eating plans that help heal your body so you can fend off catastrophic illness and disease caused by poor dietary habits.

Certified nutritionists are qualified to test patients and to make suggestions for alterations in their diet. The demand for Certified Nutritionist is high. Nursing homes and extended care facilities need professionals on their team. Sports teams, gyms, and fitness facilities also make use of nutritionists. Others may choose self-employment in the field, offering meal plans and nutritional guidance to their clients. People striving for peak performance require specific nutrition to achieve their goals. Taking nutrition courses keeps professionals up to speed on the latest developments in their industry.

Pursue a Career in Public Health As A Dietician or Nutritionist

Public health is a field that has many openings for nutrition specialists. Those with proper certification can find jobs in Health Services Administration, Health Advocacy, Biostatistics, Public health practice, Epidemiology, Nutrition, Health Education or Behavioural Science, International Health, Environmental Health, Pharmaceuticals, or they can work in a Biomedical laboratory. These careers are high-paying and stable. There’s no sign of any slowdown of hiring in any of these areas. Pursuing a career in public health has the added advantage of helping a large number of people at one time.

Working for a Company Is an Option

Finding a job working in the industry is never a problem for a nutritionist. Careers are available in multiple fields, such as community kitchen education, institutional food service, chain supermarkets and food product development. All these industries are growing, and demand for certified nutritionists is bright. Depending on how far you take your knowledge you may also consider a career teaching nutrition to others. This industry offers career advancement, depending on your level of education. Continuing education is a smart plan that will increase your income and allow you to take more positions.

Community Food Jobs Are Plentiful

There is no shortage of community food job openings. Catering, research, kitchens, commercial kitchens, and wellness programs all need qualified professionals. Your experience and educational background are the key components determining whether you’re eligible for these positions.

Your Certificate Opens Doors

A certificate in nutritional education puts you on a path to success no matter what area you plan on entering. Nutrition is not going to go out of style suddenly. Food remains an incredibly important part of people’s lives. Studying the impact of diet and making recommendations based on the latest research have no chance of going out of style. Anyone who is interested in being a fitness or health guru of any sort will need to have a solid grounding in real-world science. Nutrition courses need to be taken regularly to assure that knowledge does not get outdated. This path involves a lot of work, but the plus side is that the career path is more stable than many. Science and technology will not hurt job growth. These tools make nutritionists better at their jobs while making the information they dole out more reliable.

There are not many reasons to avoid nutrition classes. They can help you build a solid foundation for further study in fitness and health. Certification can directly help you find a career. Continued education keeps you on the road to advancement. High income is a definite potential for someone with a grounding in this discipline. The routes that can be taken to achieve that goal include consultation for high-income individuals to director level careers. Thought leaders and published authors who offer authoritative advice also do exceptionally well. With rapidly rising obesity rates, jobs in this field are going to grow more. People need to eat right to enjoy good health. Some may not want to at first. When they experience ill health, though, they’ll develop a commitment to eating in a way that improves their lives.

Tips For Growing

Tips For Growing Fresh Herbs And Veggies For A Healthier Lifestyle

With Spring fully in swing, now is a perfect time to start planning and preparing your fresh organic garden. Regardless of whether you only have room for a container garden or you own a sizeable plot of land you’ve set aside to plant, having all the tools and supplies you need to grow is critical to maintaining your garden through the growing season and into the harvest season.

Here are some tips for growing a beautiful garden!

Soak Your Seeds

It is always a good idea to prepare seeds for planting. One of the best and easiest ways to do this is by soaking your seeds and storing them overnight in the dark. All you need to do is fill a small glass with water and drop the seeds in. (Never mix seed varieties!) By doing so, you’re taking steps to hydrate the seeds, so they’re ready to grow! Hydrated seeds are hardier than seeds not hydrated before planting. Further, this step helps boost your flowers and vegetable plants, so they mature faster.

If you have a large area allotted for your garden, consider leaving a portion of your yard open so natural plants and wildlife can flourish. By doing so, you’re helping native plants, animals, and insects a natural environment where they can thrive.

Your organic garden is an ideal place to plant strawberries. For parents and grandparents, everbearing strawberry plants are a great investment. Your kids or grandkids can pick their berries directly out of your garden and will love the fact they were directly involved in growing these beautiful, juicy fruits.

Don’t Forget About The Flowers!

Flowers are always a great source of beauty in your lawn or garden. To grow an amazing English garden, be sure to plant a variety of plants with different heights using the same flower bed. By putting taller plants in the back and shorter plants towards the front, you avoid a flat and uniform looking garden space. Plants like Heather grow tall and help attract insects including bees, spiders and ground beetles that are beneficial to your garden throughout the growing season.

Always keep in mind that every type of flower doesn’t have the same light and watering requirements. For best results, always be sure to plant your flowers in places that are best suited for their preferences. Otherwise, you’ll have unhappy plants on your hands! These days, most garden centers put descriptive tags on the nursery plants they offer that give instructions for planting and nurturing, making it easier for gardeners to plant appropriately.

Use these tips for growing plants and vegetables to get started in the wonderful hobby of gardening for fun – and for food! You’re sure to enjoy the fruits of your labor and the time away from the workaday world.

Grilled Chicken is Great For Dieting

Grilled Chicken is Great For Dieting

One of the best things about the Grilled Chicken Diet is its diversity. Grilled Chicken can be prepared and served in countless combinations.

  • Grilled Chicken can be served on top of a fresh green salad. Grilled Chicken Caesar is a popular salad many people enjoy.
  • Grilled Chicken can be served as an entree. Brown Rice and steamed vegetables are excellent side dishes.
  • Chicken can be marinated to add flavor prior to grilling.
  • Serve Grilled Chicken in a wheat pita with fresh salsa and roasted peppers

Chicken breast can be purchased either fresh or frozen. Grilled chicken is a good choice for any dieter, and is easy to prepare.

Despite all these positives, eating a diet that consists of only grilled chicken is not recommended.

Your body needs other foods, and there is no ‘magical’ principle that should limit anyone to eating only grilled chicken.

Dieters should consider adding vegetables and fiber to their diet.  Lowering carbs is a good idea, and eating lean protein is also.

A balanced approach to diet generally is more effective.  Most people are not content eating a single type of food.

We’re used to variety in our diets so eliminating all but one type of food is counter-intuitive for just about everyone.

Due to the popularity of the George Foreman grills, chicken caught on as a ‘healthy food.’ However, recent studies have indicated that even grilled chicken can be the cause of obesity in certain people.

As usual, it’s best to err on the side of moderation.

Eating grilled chicken along with a nice salad would probably be a better option than just devouring chicken. Incorporating plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables assures that you’re getting the nutrients you need to stay healthy.

In a nutshell, grilled chicken is a good diet option because you can prepare it ahead of time and re-heat it as needed. It can be used in salads, wraps, or as a main course.

What To Do When Life Sucks And You Can't Take It Anymore

What To Do When Life Sucks And You Can’t Take It Anymore

We’ve all been there before. Unless you’re a person who always been remarkably blessed, there are times in life when it seems like nothing is going right. A sports equivalent is the so-called ‘slump’ experienced by baseball players.

Players who have shown extraordinary skill to make it to the Major Leagues suddenly can’t do ANYTHING right. They struggle to hit the ball, and as the struggle, they become even more aware of the major problem looming in their life, and things amazingly get even worse!

Life slumps happen too! Thing may seem smooth for a long while. All of sudden, a slump hits! This can be a confusing and scary time for anyone who goes through it. What can you do to reverse the losses so you can get back in the groove? There are certain steps you can take, which we’ll take a look at right now.

You Are Not Your Struggle

You Are Not Your Struggle

Be Careful Not To Identify Too Closely With Your Struggle

So, you’re struggling. Life has become more of an endurance contest than anything else. Things are NOT going well. One thing is certain, though. Dwelling on all that negativity is not likely to help you turn things around. Instead, you have to do what might seem nearly impossible. You have to instead focus on all the good things that await you when you’re struggle has ended. If you wonder what to do when life sucks start with the concept of taking positive action.

You still need to take action, obviously. If you’re unemployed, you need to look for a job. But you can’t identify with your struggle so closely that it becomes your complete self image. Being unemployed might be an easy label, but it hardly tells us EVERYTHING about your character. If you keep looking for a job and you expect to find one, chances are you’ll get back on your feet. If you need to re-educate yourself or gain new skills, you have to do it. Nobody is telling you life will suddenly get easy for you. Chances are things won’t improve that dramatically. But things will improve drastically over time as long as you keep your mindset positive and you focus on what could be, instead of all the bad things that are happening now.

Don’t worry if you don’t get everything right. Nobody ever does. It’s TOUGH to keep on fighting when things have gone against you. Brighter days might seem far off in the distance, but they are waiting for you.

Realize That You Are Not Alone

Be Kind To Everyone You Meet

Be Kind To Everyone You Meet

There are millions of people going through tough times every day. You’re not alone and lots of folks can relate to what you’re going through. It helps to realize that you aren’t the only one out there facing difficulty. Not only are lots of people now going through troubles, but millions of others have had the same experiences and come through them stronger.

People are strong. They have been able to persevere despite incredibly rough circumstances. Time and again, humankind rises to whatever challenge that presents itself. You can do the same! You’re made of the same strong stuff and you can endure your current hardship.

More importantly, the experience will make your stronger. You will be prepared to handle whatever comes your way from now on. You may not like what’s happening to you, but you have the power to change and the power to overcome. Those powers will go a long way towards helping you make a better life for yourself.

When you realize that others are struggling just as you are, the quality of kindness is easy to come by. Random people you meet in a day might be going through far worse ordeals than you could ever imagine. Treat others well and you will be treated well by others. If you have been struggling for a protracted period of time, you may need to modify your manner and your attitude.

Part of that modification should be acceptance – of yourself, and others. Don’t be hard on yourself because you’ve hit a bump in the road! Love yourself even more because you’re doing what it takes to emerge victorious.

Make The Changes You Can Make Right Away

Ask yourself what you need to do in order to improve your situation? Some things may not be possible right away. However, there will be some ‘low hanging fruit‘ that can be worked on immediately. Focus on accomplishing those easy things right off the bat.

Once you’ve knocked back a few easy changes, you can then focus on bigger issues that are holding you back. The point is to keep getting things done, instead of focusing on issues that you can’t resolve quickly.

If you do focus only on the biggest issues, you run the risk of suffering from frustration. That is never good, especially when you’re trying to get your life back on track.

Changing your attitude and behavior can lead you to better days. Wallowing in misery about what’s gone wrong can’t help.

This advice probably seems simple, because it is. There is no magic bullet to improving your lot in life. Time and effort are what’s required. It’s never easy to make serious changes in yourself, but the efforts can pay off big. An improved attitude that helps you change your circumstances will allow you to get much more out of life.

So what’s the quickest way to improve your attitude? Expressing genuine gratitude for qualities or circumstances that already exist has to be the easiest way. When you realize that there are a lot of things you genuinely appreciate in your life, it gives you the strength to change those things you don’t like.

Build from your strengths, rather than celebrate your weaknesses.  It’s not always easy to maintain perspective on your life. Many of us tend to be too hard on ourselves. Take inventory of your life and chart out what you want. One good thing about being in a slump is that it forces you – due to unhappiness – to make the changes you need to make in order to move forward.

Better days are ahead. Stay focused on what great things lie in store for you and begin your comeback!  Good luck and thanks for reading.

Strategies For Overcoming Negative Thoughts

Strategies For Overcoming Negative Thoughts

Strategies For Overcoming Negative Thoughts

Thinking positive is creating a mindset that avoids thinking about negative consequences. It’s on this basis that the practice is normally attached by critics. To someone who doesn’t believe in the power of positive thinking, all sorts of examples can immediately be formed. ‘Look, that person got cancer. See, positive thinking doesn’t work!

Sure, on the surface that argument makes sense. If positive thinking was the cure for all ills, then no bad things would ever exist. That type of either or mentality is not required. Positive thinking works for many people, largely because it gives them the power to make transformative changes in their lives. Will they become perfect if they start thinking positive? Will everything suddenly start going their way? Let’s not be ridiculous here! Of course thinking positive won’t give you a 100% perfect experience in your life.

But, on the other hand, how can it hurt?

Thinking Positive Scares People Who Are Holding Onto Negative Thoughts

The difference between positive and negative thinkers

The difference between positive and negative thinkers

People in a rut are afraid of change. That’s why the idea of thinking positive is so scary to them. They’re convinced it’s impossible to change their fate. If they weren’t, they probably would have already embarked on a campaign of self improvement.

Change is scary. Staying on a set path and clinging to status quo is the easiest way to feel comfortable. If you don’t strive for anything better, than you can be complacent and convinced you’ve achieved everything you set out to in life.

Those who set big, outrageous goals for themselves don’t have this same luxury. They can never be complacent, even when they achieve one of their long-held goals.

Thinking positive should scare people! It’s a way of doing things that might just change their entire way of living. Not only that, but they will change profoundly in every area of their life when they choose to journey on this path.

One of the main differences between positive and negative thinkers is how they handle failure. A positive thinker regards a failure as the cost of doing business. A negative thinker takes the setback hard. If the person’s reaction is to always deal with bad results this way, it won’t be long until they become bitter. Once true bitterness sets in, a downward spiral is almost assured! Your mindset determines much of what happens to you in a day.

If you hold tight to the idea that only negative results are in store for you, a self fulfilling prophesy soon takes hold. This mental rut can be avoided. You can also dig yourself out of this mental place if you’re stuck there.

Monitor Your Self Talk And Eliminate The Garbage

Monitor Your Self Talk And Eliminate The Garbage

Monitor Your Self Talk And Eliminate The Garbage

You don’t have time for truly damaging self talk. If really bad thoughts like ‘I hate my life’ or something along those lines pop into your head, you need a strategy to quickly neutralize them. You can’t go through life thinking you’re doomed. It’s not true and holding on the belief can’t help you in any way. Don’t let garbage thoughts go unchallenged. As a matter of fact, just contradict them as soon as the occur.

If you’re thinking you hate your life, counter with thoughts of all you’ve accomplished in your life. Tell yourself about the things you love. Whatever you do, don’t let the creepy thought just sit there, taking up valuable mind-space!

Keep monitoring you self talk and keep on relentlessly neutralizing the garbage thoughts until they aren’t there any more. This is the first and easiest step towards developing a positive mindset.

Plant The Seeds Of Success

Plant the seeds of success

Plant the seeds of success

Another way to move forward is to set a goal for yourself. The exact goal you have in mind doesn’t matter. What matters is the positive energy that develops from you setting your mind on a task and then taking steps to achieve the results. That formula has proven successful for humans for millenia. It has worked for others and it will work for you.

Without goals, you have no direction. Without direction it’s likely you’ll stall. That’s just the nature of how things work in this Universe.

Once you’ve actually defined what it is you want you can begin going about getting it. If you never define your goals you can’t be surprised that nothing positive is really happening. You have to take action to make progress on your goals. The clearer you can defined and picture what you want, the easier it will be to create a roadmap to get there.

The nice thing about thinking about your goals is that you will be thinking less negative thoughts at the same time! You really can only hold so many major themes in your mind at one time. That’s why choosing positive ones like goals reduces automatically the amount of negative thoughts you hold!

Work Hard And Stay Focused

Work Hard And Stay Focused

Work Hard And Stay Focused

Busy people don’t have time to be negative all day. They can’t sit around dwelling on past failures. They’re expected to make the most out of their current day. Working hard on a goal makes it so you don’t have much time for complaining.

Hard work also gives you a strong feeling of pride. Your outlook becomes less negative simply because you’re working towards something – and you’re achieving goals along the way.

Every goal you check off on your list helps you overcome self doubt. Each win removes the specter of defeat! You can literally rebuild how you view your life by setting goals and achieving them.

Once you start making real progress, it’s important to set long-term goals to rivet your focus. Small goals are great because you can achieve them quickly. Long-term goals tend to be big ones. They’re the types of goals that excite your passions because the potential for change in your life is so huge.

Staying focused helps you to block out negative thoughts that won’t help you cause. This type of ‘tunnel vision‘ has been used by very successful people who have to perform under intense pressure.

Let Go Of The Emotions Accompanying The Thoughts

Emotions keep thoughts stuck in place – and give them a life of their own. Negative thinking and strong emotions generally go hand in hand.

Releasing the emotions is one way to lessen the impact of the negative thoughts. Many people use meditation or Yoga to help them achieve this practically. The method you use will be up to you.

The idea is that you stop giving the emotion and the thought power. Take away the power they have to ruin your day and you can function more efficiently. Negative thoughts are a blockage. They prevent you from accomplishing what you need to accomplish. Removing them restores balance. It may take a good bit of effort at first to negate the emotions and the negative thoughts, but like anything, practice will help you perfect your technique.

Once you become a champion of negative thought reduction, it’s safe to say you’re well on your way to becoming a bonafide positive thinker.

Baby Steps Are Enough

There’s no reason to worry about the progress you’re making. It will take awhile to rewire your polarity from negative to positive. You may have been thinking negatively for years, or maybe for much of your life.

But don’t fret. Small, consistent steps are enough.

Little by little you’ll make the changes needed to start framing your thinking in a positive light. Once you start doing that regularly, advances in your life become very possible. As you get results, the process becomes easier to perform.

Even major changes can be implemented in this manner. Just keep taking baby steps each day and you will get there!

insane - Thinking Positive When Things Have Gone Bad

Thinking Positive When Things Have Gone Bad

Thinking Positive When Things Have Gone Bad

Thinking Positive When Things Have Gone Bad

It’s one thing to be able to think positive during good times. It’s entirely another to stay upbeat when all hell has broken loose and your fortunes have suffered a downswing. The funny thing is, though, it’s during times like that when it’s particularly important to stay positive!

That’s the strange dichotomy of positive thinking. You have to be able to keep your attitude upright, even when trouble has reared its ugly head. That’s not easy for anyone to do, especially someone who is just starting out on the path of positivity.

Don’t fret, there will be slips along the way. Luckily – thinking positive does not require perfection. All the practice requires is that you take a consistent approach to your basic philosophy and that you hold a strong belief that things are going to get better. If you believe in the power of your mind then you’re susceptible to that belief and it serves as a basis for your reality.

You probably DO create much of what happens in your life. Since you’re the singular star of your own reality TV show, much of the drama that happens in your life is because of actions you’ve taken. Add in your overall demeanor, mindset, and attitude towards events and people and it’s likely much of what happens to you is because of YOU.

Forget The Past

Forget The Past

Forget The Past

When bad things happen it’s easy to spend way too much wondering about why. Yes, you have to analyze your actions, but you really can’t afford to dwell on the negative events that have led to your demise. Maybe you lost a job, or got sick and piled up huge bills. It can – and does -happen to people all the time. You should not feel ashamed because of a temporary setback.

Heck, even if it is something you caused, you still have to let it go. Maybe you’ve been drinking too much and making bad decisions. Well, as long as you’ve decided to put yourself back on the straight and narrow, you don’t need to beat yourself up needlessly.

Let it all go. You are still in control of what happens to you. You are making moves every day that can make your life better. That’s the main thing to keep in mind. Everyone makes mistakes. It’s all a part of being human. Don’t dwell on these mistakes anymore. Instead, create a clear picture of your future. Focus on that! Even though that life does not yet exist, it can.

Live Your Imagination

Live Your Imagination

Live Your Imagination

If you’ve been struggling for awhile, you may have gotten out of the habit of imaging a better life. That’s a bad idea. Now is the right time to set new goals, and big ones at that. Your subconscious can not get excited about small goals. Instead you need to make your goals impressive! No one can get excited about a small goal. Saying that your goal is to earn an extra $5 a week or to pay off one of your bills a year early just doesn’t inspire awe! Instead, set your goals higher. I plan on making six figures in two years. Or I will have $200,000 in my bank account in three years. Don’t worry about whether the goals sounds far fetched or not.

It should.

Since you’ve never earned a fraction of that money, your rational mind will have a hard time believing you can do it. However, your subconcious mind will take you at your word.

If you haven’t used your imagination in awhile, don’t be surprised if you’re rusty. Just spark it back up and try thinking of all the things that you would love to happen in your life. Try to spend at least a part of your day looking forward, while getting rid of the parts where you look back. This is a way to remind yourself that the best is yet to come.

Set New Goals

Set Goals To Win!

Set Goals To Win!

Since things haven’t been working out, you need to set new goals. They can be small ones to start. If they’re easy to achieve you can check them off and set new ones! The point is, set some goals. Don’t feel like you shouldn’t just because of issues you’ve been having.

You won’t get anywhere without a road map. Imagine a ship heading out to sea that doesn’t have the slightest clue about what the ultimate destination is? Do you think it will make it? Probably not! You need to determine your destination and map your way to it.

Goals are the way you define what your destination is.

Strategies and tactics are your roadmap to get there.

Your attitude is the wind that moves your sails forward.

Redefining Your Day To Day Behavior

It’s never enough to just set goals. You will also need to control your day to day behavior to make sure it’s in complete alignment with your goals. You will have to ask yourself whether the work you’re doing is aligned with the end result. If not, you can’t do it!

This Is Positive Thinking

This Is Positive Thinking

This might sound difficult for someone who hasn’t been doing this recently. But once you get the hang of asking yourself simple questions and aligning all of your actions with your goals, you’ll feel it all ‘click’ in. The way forward is to achieve results. Don’t waste time on activities that aren’t getting you any closer to where you want to go. That is time wasting, for a reason! You can set aside time specifically for entertainment, so don’t fret. There will be plenty of time for fun. But when you’re supposed to be working, you need to work. The most successful people generally work very hard – and very smart.

You would do well to follow their lesson.

I hope I’ve covered the basics on how someone in distress can use positive thinking to move beyond their current difficulties. It won’t be easy. Getting over your current programming will take time and dedicated effort. The payoff is worth it! You still have a chance to change things around so you can begin to live the kind of life you want! It’s worth a shot.

High protein foods tend to be more filling than their high-carbohydrate counterparts that leave you feeling tired and hungry after eating them.

In fact many carb rich foods tend to have high calorie counts and low nutritional value. These shortcomings always leave you wanting to eat more food – which is great for the food marketers, but not so good for your waistline.

The basic premise of the Caveman or Paleo style diet is simple. People would weigh less and be healthier if they ate more like their ancestors, the cavemen.

In the day of the Caveman, the chances of being heavy were very slim. No pun intended. Instead of quickly picking up a cheap meal at a fast food drive-thru window or choosing from ten page menus at a franchise restaurant, people of that era were forced to hunt wild game or gather nuts, berries and vegetables that were available in their environment. In fact, the search for food took time, effort and planning.

Back then a successful hunt may have had to sustain a family or enclave for weeks or even months, so people were more likely to only eat what they needed to make it last longer. Access to other food stuffs like whole grains, vegetables and fruits was limited by climate and harvest seasons, so planning ahead was key to having enough food supplies to last through the winter and off season.

Compare that to how people eat today. There are endless choices of convenience foods, snacks and some restaurants have even made up “Fourth Meal” monikers to target late night eaters. And restaurants aren’t the only place to make bad choices. According to industry reports, the average supermarket now carries an excess of 38,000 items for consumers to choose from.

What Foods Are Paleo/Caveman Approved?

If you enjoy eating meat, the Caveman Diet is easy to adapt to. Approved foods – but not limited to – include Poultry, Steak, Bison, Bacon, Pork, Veal and Seafood.

People following this basic diet can also enjoy a wide range of vegetables including carrots, spinach, asparagus, peppers, celery, broccoli, eggplant and zucchini. Almonds, cashews, walnuts and pecans are other staples of the Paleo diet plan.

There’s no shortage of fruits that you can enjoy, either. Caveman diet approved fruits include peaches, blackberries, grapes, raspberries, limes, watermelon and mangoes are a just a handful of Paleo/Caveman diet approved fruits.

Caveman Diet Focuses On Simplicity

Allowed fats include Olive Oil, Coconut Oil and Avocado Oil.

What Foods Aren’t Allowed On The Caveman/Paleo Diet?

Since the Paleo diet is basically a high protein, low carb diet, it calls for the restriction of highly processed foods such as macaroni and cheese, white breads, potato chips, butter, cheese, cream cheese, ice cream, soda pop, energy drinks, juices that contain high amounts of sugar or fructose, snack foods, beans and legumes, fatty meats like hot dogs and anything that’s made out of grains – including beer and almost all other alcohol. Some condiments like Catsup are prohibited due the high content of salt.

Candy, sugary foods and most desserts are also off the menu, so if you have a sweet tooth, you’ll need to prepare to sacrifice these food stuffs in pursuit of simpler way of eating.

Summary Of The Caveman Or Paleo Style Diet

What Other Things Can I Do To Maximize The Results Following A Paleo Diet?

A proper Paleo diet is a good start to getting the results that you’re looking for, but there is more that you can do to make this the last ‘diet’ that you have to follow. Here are more tips to make the most of your Paleo lifestyle.

Stay Active!
  •  Sleep – You always want to be sure that your body and your mind are properly rested. Sleep patterns affect your metabolism, so not getting enough sleep can slow your metabolism and hinder weight loss.
  • Avoid Stress – This can be easier said than done sometimes, but find a positive outlet for stress. Stress leads to the body to produce Adrenalin which can lead to a slower metabolism. Consider doing yoga, meditating, walking, reading, dancing or any other activity that calms your nerves or gets your heart pumping in a good way.
  • Eat Regularly – While you might think that skipping meals will help you lose weight faster, it’s actually has the opposite effect. Our ‘caveman’ bodies are still wired to store fat, just in case there’s a famine. When you skip meals, this part of the human physiology kicks in and your body will actually try to hold on to the extra fat to prevent starvation. Eat the right things at the right time and the fat will melt off!
  • Drink Water – Being properly hydrated is a big deal! Aim to drink as much water as possible in a day – preferably 8 glasses or more.
  • Be Active – Activity is another key to higher metabolism. Sweep the floor, dust your bookshelves, clean your bathroom, go for a walk – anything. If possible, try to limit the amount of time you sit in front of a computer, watch television or play video games. When you’re participating in these passive activities, your metabolism is basically the same as when you’re sleeping – resting.

If you’re ready to make the change to a Paleo style diet, being armed with a Paleo Recipe Book is the tool you need to kick start your efforts and keep your diet interesting and tasty in the days, weeks and months to come.

Thanks for stopping by and good luck on your efforts!

Cut Sugar In Diet

Tips And Tricks To Cut Sugar Out Of Diet

Tips And Tricks To Cut Sugar Out Of Diet Starting Today!

Did you know that a recent study found that the average American consumes an estimated 3 pounds of sugar every week? That’s a lot of sugar!

Unfortunately, this widely popular food additive is connected with many serious health conditions such as diabetes, obesity, food allergies and can even increase your chances for getting cancer.

Given this information, it’s easy to understand why anyone would be motivated to reduce their sugar intake.

In addition to the serious health conditions mentioned above, sugar can alter your mood and contribute to other ailments like eczema.

When you reduce your consumption of sugar, you’re taking the right steps to lose weight, stabilize your mood, decrease your likelihood of being diabetic and have a smoother complexion.

Cutting sugar out of your diet can seem like a really daunting prospect, especially if you haven’t been paying close attention to your diet – and it gets worse once you start examining the ingredients in the foods you eat more closely.

Almost everything that you can think of is packed with sugar or hidden sugars.

Be On The Lookout For Hidden Sugars!

The use of even cheaper sweeteners like high fructose corn syrup is prevalent in foods like bread, cereals, soft drinks and many tomato based sauces (such as Spaghetti and BBQ sauces) so you’ll really need to delve into reading (and understanding) nutrition labels.

Despite this, cutting sugar out of your diet isn’t as bad as it seems. It’s possible to replace numerous sugary food items with healthier alternatives. For instance, you can start making your own marinades and sauces instead of relying on bottled BBQ sauce.

Tips And Tricks To Cut Sugar Out Of Diet

Here are a few healthier options for the times when you’re craving something sweet when cutting back on sugar.

Dried Fruit – Dried fruits are a great alternative when you need a sweet tasting fix.

Raisins are probably the most popular dried fruit overall, but they aren’t the only show in town.

With many people seeking out healthier alternatives you can easily find dried pineapple, banana chips, apricots, apple rings, papaya, Goji berries, mangos, prunes and other dried fruits at your favorite supermarket or health food store.

Just make sure that they are natural and not sweetened dried fruits. If they’re sweetened, sugar has been added it’s disguised as a healthy snack.

Another bonus is that dried fruit is convenient and can easily be carried in your purse or lunch bag for easy, healthy snacks when you’re away from home.

Fresh Fruit – Fresh fruit is another logical choice to replace unhealthy sugary foods in your diet.

Fresh fruit is naturally sweet and is packed with vitamins and nutrients to help fuel your body which in turn makes you feel better overall. Bananas, grapes, strawberries, fresh melons and apples are all great picks. Whenever possible, try to buy local, seasonal fresh fruits and vegetables (to support your good health and your local farmers.)

There’s nothing quite like an orchard fresh apple or a bowl of locally grown strawberries to start your day!

Natural Sweeteners – Sugar is no longer the only option for adding sweeteners to your food and drinks.

When cutting back on sugar, be sure to avoid using chemical based sweeteners such as aspertame and saccharin, as there are questions about side effects related to using them. Choose Stevia instead.

Stevia is a compound that’s sweeter than common table sugar and because it doesn’t affect a persons blood sugar levels making it friendly to diabetics and people on carbohydrate controlled diets.

Did I mention Stevia has zero calories? Stevia can be used to sweeten coffee, tea and can even be used in baked goods – just be sure to convert your recipe to reflect the ingredient substitution.

This strict of a diet modification can be challenging, but there are plenty of reasons to do this.

Numerous people that dieted, exercised and controlled  their sugar intake were able to get off of their prescription medication for diabetes after losing weight and lowering their blood sugar levels into safe levels.

Remember that anything that’s worth having takes a lot of hard work and dedication to the cause – motivation and willpower are the key because they’re the two things that keep anyone going at any endeavor.

Of the two, willpower is probably the most difficult. To drastically reduce the amount of sugar you consume you’ll need to eliminate or significantly cut back on alcohol, soda pop, breads, sugary cereals, rich desserts and foods that contain lots of hidden sugars.
